Book announcement!

I'm happy to share that Roaring Brook Press has acquired my new picture book manuscript titled Once We Were Strangers. As the daughter of a refugee, I am so very grateful to be able to share with young readers of all religions and no religions a story about the Jewish tradition of welcoming and caring for the stranger. The greatly talented Wesley Allsbrook is illustrating; you may know her work from The New Yorker, New York Times, McSweeney’s, and other outlets.

And I’m excited that the acquiring editor is Mekisha Telfer! It feels like a reunion, as Mekisha worked on I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark, back in 2016 when she was an editorial assistant at Simon & Schuster. Now she’s a Roaring Brook editor with a list of her own!
